1.Pick Your Playlist Before Starting Your Car
Many people use their cellphones to listen to music while they’re in the car. A cell phone is a surprisingly good way to pump out tunes, but it does come with risks. Attempting to find the music you want to listen to while at the wheel can lead to loads of distracted driving, which in turn, can lead to a traffic accident. To prevent this from happening, you can pick your playlist before you hit the open road; that way, you stay safe and have the music you want.

Get Started2.Map Your Route Before Starting Your Car
In the same vein as the previous problem, many people attempt to use their phone’s GPS system when they’re already on the road. To combat this, plug in your desired destination before you turn on your car.
3.Turn Your Phone on Silent
Notifications are helpful, but over time a phone’s notification system trains us to pick up our phone and to respond. If you have a hard time not responding to the audible sounds that come from your phone, consider putting it on silent when driving.

4.Put Your Phone in the Back of Your Car
If you need directions and want music, but can’t keep yourself from checking your phone, it may be best to put it somewhere you can’t reach. If your phone is synced with your car using Bluetooth or wires, you should be able to listen to music or get directions without having to have the phone on your person. When using this tactic, you still get the functions you need, but you eliminate your ability to text or respond to notifications while behind the wheel.

5.Download a Self-Locking App
There are some apps you can download that “lock” your phone for an allotted time. With a locking app, you freeze the functioning of your phone with a time-based mechanism that will automatically unfreeze your phone once the countdown finishes. This is an excellent tool for keeping your hands off your phone while driving, but it also doubles as an accountability system for staying on task in other areas of life!
We hope this list helps you accomplish your goal of paying attention to the road. Unfortunately, not everyone wants to improve in this area.
