#1: Impaired Drivers
Many holiday and end-of-year parties often include alcohol and even drugs. Due to this, many drivers are involved in drunk driving accidents that result in catastrophic injuries. If you plan on drinking this holiday season, we recommend planning ahead by having a designated driver or calling an Uber/Lyft to drive you home. Even if you don’t plan on drinking, you should remain vigilant to avoid drunk drivers on the road.

Get Started#2: Fatigued Drivers
Whether people are shopping late for last-minute gifts or going to holiday parties, the holiday season can be tiring. For such reasons, fatigued and drowsy driving is common during the holiday season. According to a study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, people who slept six to seven hours a night are twice as likely to be involved in a sleep-related crash compared to those who slept eight hours or more. People who sleep less than five hours are four to five times more likely to be involved in an accident. If you’re feeling tired, you should avoid driving – especially during late hours.
#3: Road Rage
Congested roads are also common during the holiday season. Every driver has a place to be. This often leads to impatient and reckless drivers on the road. If you see reckless driving, you should try to keep your distance as much as possible. If you have a place to be this holiday season, plan ahead to avoid feeling the pressure of speeding to get to your destination.
